Venus Flytrap Bloodworm Feeding Kit

Everything You Need to Supercharge Your Flytraps

Want bigger traps? Faster growth? Stronger venus flytraps and other carnivorous plants?

This all-in-one Freeze-Dried Bloodworm Feeding Kit gives you everything you need to properly feed your Venus flytraps the right way, using the same method I use on my own collection.

Whether you’re feeding one plant or an entire tray, this kit makes the process clean, precise, and incredibly effective.

You can get the freeze-dried bloodworms by themselves or with the feeding kit!

🪱 What’s Included

0.75 oz Premium Freeze-Dried Bloodworms
High-protein, nutrient-dense food that mimics natural prey. This amount may look small — but it goes a LONG way. Most growers only use tiny portions per feeding.

Plastic Ramekin (Prep Container)
Perfect size for rehydrating your bloodworms without making a mess.

Precision Tweezers (Flat Paddle Tip)
Designed for placing food inside traps and gently stimulating them closed to trigger digestion.

Feeding Toothpick
Ideal for precise placement — especially for smaller traps.

Water Dropper with Measurement Markings
Allows you to hydrate worms evenly without flooding them.

Everything you need. Nothing extra. No guesswork.

🚀 Why Bloodworms?

Bloodworms are the larvae of non-biting midges and are packed with protein. When properly hydrated and placed inside a trap, they will supercharge growth in venus flytraps and other carnivorous plants.

The result?

• Bigger traps
• Stronger growth
• Faster recovery after dormancy
• Healthier, more vigorous plants

When used correctly, feeding just 1–2 traps every 2–3 weeks is more than enough to give your plant a serious boost.

⏳ How Long Will It Last?

0.75 oz may not sound like much but you use very small portions per feeding.

For most hobbyists with 1–3 plants, this bag can last a year or more.

Shelf life: Up to 2 years when stored sealed in a cool, dry place.

(Pro tip: Only rehydrate what you plan to use. Hydrated worms should be used within a couple days.)

🌿 Also Works for Other Carnivorous Plants

This feeding kit isn’t just for Venus flytraps.

The same hydrated bloodworm mix can also be used to boost growth in other carnivorous plants:

Sarracenia (North American Pitcher Plants)

Simply drop a small blob of the hydrated mix into an active pitcher.
Make sure there’s a little water already in the bottom of the pitcher to help break down the food so the plant can absorb the nutrients.

No squeezing or stimulation required.

Sundews (Drosera)

Place a tiny amount directly onto the sticky, dewy tentacles.
The leaf will naturally curl around the food and begin digestion on its own.

Easy. Clean. Effective.

Pinguicula (Butterworts)

While primarily designed for flytraps and pitcher plants, very small portions may also be used on butterworts. Just be sure to use tiny amounts to avoid leaving excess food on the leaf surface.

Whether you grow one plant or a full carnivorous collection, this kit gives you a simple, controlled way to provide high-protein nutrition across multiple species.

One kit. Multiple plants. Serious growth potential.

⚠️ Important Notes

  • Designed for healthy, established Venus flytraps
  • Do not overfill traps — keep food under half the trap size
  • Feed no more than 1–2 traps per growth point every 2–3 weeks
  • Some individuals may have mild sensitivity to bloodworms, gloves or a mask are recommended when handling bloodworms.
